Timber prices June 2025

Some tree species have seen significant changes. Prices have dropped for pine logs and, more broadly, for paper wood across all species. However, the key issue hasn’t been the price decline, but rather that markets have significantly reduced their intake of wood.

Typically, during the spring period, this situation is quite common for pine logs and birch veneer logs. Yet this year, the warehouses for these products filled up quickly – despite the mild winter. It’s likely that warehouses storing sawn material are also heavily stocked.

The slow start to summer brings some hope that these large stockpiles will begin to shrink more rapidly, and that demand for wood will increase. Time will tell.
