The situation before the holiday period is characterised by sawmills either being closed or not yet preparing for the autumn season. The prices of hardwood logs (birch and black alder) have declined. Market demand for aspen pulpwood remains low. Although the price has stayed relatively stable, only limited volumes are being accepted. Rainy weather in the near future is expected to have a positive effect on the prices of conifer logs and birch plywood.
